Arkansas Repertory Theatre - Gypsy
By Arthur Laurents, Jule Styne and Stephen Sondheim
June 6 - 29, 2003
Considered by many to be the best book and score of any American musical, this gem-hard look at Vaudeville follows a ruthless, resourceful stage mother as she pushes her daughters along the rugged road to stardom. The heartbreak and triumph of Gypsy Rose Lee’s transformation from child performer to burlesque queen is forever immortalized in this brash and brassy tour de force musical. Ethel Merman, Rosalind Russell, Bette Midler, Angela Lansbury and Tyne Dailey have all tackled the role of the indomitable Mama Rose.

Museum of Discovery - All Aboard Arkansas Exhibit > November 17 to January 20, 2002 Come along as five speeding locomotives take you on an electrifying journey through Arkansas from the mountains to the river valleys and the delta! The elaborate, 700 sq. ft. exhibit, features five "O" scale trains running through mountain passes, across a gorge, over a river and through the delta, is patterned on the model railroad exhibit at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry. All Aboard Arkansas is not just trains, it also has planes and automobiles and many examples of the infrastructure of our communities.
